GMO Right2Know March

In 2011, I helped create a diverse coalition of organizations, businesses and individuals and produced the GMO Right2Know March. This 16-day march between New York and Washington, DC featured daily events at local food cooperatives, as hundreds of marchers walked all 313 miles to the White House.

The march began from the Historic Flatbush Food Co-op in Brooklyn, NY and ended at the gates of the White House to ask the Obama Administration to support labeling of genetically engineered foods, also termed "Genetically Modified Organisms" or "GMOs". This campaign launched the movement to label GMO's in the US, and was immediately followed by several state ballot initiatives to demand labeling.
